Techlicious Birthday Surprise: OnePlus 3

I don’t know why but I take pride in the fact that I was born on the 8th day of the 8th month.  I still remember how special was 8-8-88, just for the dates by the way. None of my contributions to the fact but I am happy to be a Leo. With my birthday just round the corner I was taken by a sweet surprise when I got OnePlus 3 as a birthday gift from my dear husband.

Nothing could have been better. He had seen me struggling with my old phone because it was loaded with pictures and apps (can’t help it buddy I am a blogger and need camera on the go with apps to share the captured beauties (read pics)). So when I received the beautiful and sleek looking OnePlus 3 via Amazon I was excited and wanted to explore the storage, battery and camera specifications first of all.

Go click, click

With a superior 16 MP camera and 8 MP front facing camera for selfies it is nothing short of a DSLR in your hand sans the weight and the size. Read on before you judge. OnePlus 3 is also loaded with features like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) which in simple words to me means great pictures and videos, and no shakiness and unwanted movements.

Fridge magnets clicked with OnePlus 3

What’s more if you love your DSLR but don’t want to carry the weight around try the manual mode in this phone which lets you fine tune your exposure, ISO, focus and other stuff. I am yet to try the manual mode; right now I am happy letting OnePlus 3 do the job for me while I go just around shooting what I please. There are also features like High Dynamic Range and Dynamic De-noise which cuts the chances of grainy pictures and you get well balanced photos.

Less time in socket, more in pocket

You got that right, OnePlus 3 has been boasting about their Dash Charge and why shouldn’t they? In about 30 minutes my phone gets full charged and is ready on the go for any event that I might attend at a short notice or for the lazy day when I just want to be in my phone’s company and want to spend hours browsing just about anything. They say if you have it, flaunt it. I agree.

Looks that could kill

It’s a beauty in my hands. I am sure in yours too it could look the same. Because it not about hands it’s about the product. The slim and sleek design and rounded corners give it a very stylish and classy look and feel.

It weighs 158 gms which is cool considering the size and the features and the width of the phone is 7.35mm which makes it slim and sexy.  Made of space grade aluminum alloy, it is whatever the metal stands for – lightweight, strength and good to touch. And they say that each phone cast is carved out of a single slab of aluminum.  The cover glass is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 4.Impressive. What say?

Tech Tale

I may not be a tech expert but understand the basics about the technology that I need to be comfortable with my device and not waste my time worrying about the performance of my phone when I need it the most. My OnePlus 3 is power packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, UFS 2.0 technology and 64 GB storage space which means I can click and shoot and store. It has a 5.5 inch display and one of the important things that deserve a mention here is that the volume button is on the left hand side of the camera so when you are clicking a selfie it makes the job easier with just a click of your thumb you have a perfect selfie.  So now may be time has come to do more of picture and video stories. The operating system is OxygenOS based on Android™ Marshmallow and with 3,000 mAh battery OnePlus 3 will not give up on me that I am sure of.

My birthday gift: OnePlus 3 in Graphite Grey

Though I am not the video-game-on-phone kind of a person (blame me for not knowing anything about Pokemon Go, who cares?) but I know for a fact that people who love playing games on their phones will cherish the fact that OnePlus 3 comes packed with 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM which means that you can shift between playing graphic intensive games and shooting 4K videos without any delay or lag. Ah! That part I like, no delays or lags!

Did I mention that my  OnePlus 3 comes with a finger print sensor?  The more I explore the more I fall in love with the device and the person who chose it for me. Thanks a lot for this lovely and oh-so-useful birthday gift.
