Popularly known as the Scandinavian countries, the three countries – Denmark, Norway and Sweden are the newest hot spots for the Indian traveller

We Indians are the new burgeoning class of travellers that the world is taking notice of and hence we see new destinations and faraway lands coming to India to promote themselves amongst us.

One such destination rather a cluster of destinations that has caught the eyes of the Indians is Scandinavia. Scandinavian region comprises of Sweden (the land of ABBA), Denmark and Norway. This region boasts a melange of experiences like no other place –Fjords, Northern Lights (one of the many places on my bucket list), Midnight Sun, a number of UNESCO World heritage Sites, Sami Culture and the Vikings to name just a few.

It is a haven of destination for family travellers like us but honeymooners, solo travellers and group travellers also have a lot to discover here.  If you enjoy your time outdoors then you need to look no further as Scandinavian countries offer a horde of activities for everyone in the family like walking trails, biking, cruising, fishing, museums and natural wonders.

And the best part is that it’s easily accessible from India with wonderful connectivity across all the capitals of Scandinavia – Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen. Several international airlines Emirates, Qatar and Turkish Airlines offer direct connectivity from their hubs.

There are accommodation options available to suit all budgets with the popular chains like Radisson, Scandic, Nordic Choice Hotels, ARP Hansen group and Thon group present there and if you like you could book yourself one of the many charming boutique properties available. New Nordic Cuisine is something that you should experience when in Scandinavia and in case you are not up for experimenting then you have the option of a large number of Indian restaurants in Scandinavia, including vegetarian and vegan options.

Language is no barrier in the Scandinavian countries where you would find that almost everyone speaks fluent English.  In case you would like to know more about this beautiful region you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
